It is the never ending cycle...also known as dieting, and every year someone comes up with the latest and greatest diet that is guaranteed to show results! But...here is the problem with some of the more popular diets out there...they are not teaching what you should eat and what you shouldn't...these diets are still allowing you to eat the foods that cause cravings and gain weight; hence they stay in business...they allow you to have smaller portions and have cheat days etc...
So here I am to tell you how to lose those pounds fast and feel fabulous...
First lets change your focus from a weight loss diet..because as soon as you go on a diet you want to eat everything and you think you are starving to death within 5 min. of your decision to go on the diet.
Your focus needs to be on your health and what you are doing to your body. Your focus needs to be on how fabulous you will feel and how much energy you WILL have, instead of feeling like the brain dead zombie you are now because of all the crap you are filling your body with. Or worse the disease's that are manifesting in your body because of your current eating habits.
So no the first week of this is not going to be easy, but it will be worth it and that is a guarantee!!
I don't pull any punches with health and the first thing you need to do is cut out sugar..all of it, not limit your portions of it...cut it out!!! Sugar is food for cancer in case you weren't aware..as are artificial sweetners so cut them out too.
But all is not lost and you will stop craving it if you continue to follow..And here is a general guideline of how I lost over 15 lbs in 3 weeks and went from feeling blah to exhilarated!!
First thing in the morning
Warm glass of lemon water
30 min ish later....breakfast...fruit smoothie a big one with a cup of tea
smoothie consisted of almond milk, vanilla vegetable protein powder, blueberries, strawberries, greens mix and any other mixed berry I felt like adding...this is a huge smoothie
snack- fruit and almonds- I don't limit my fruit
Lunch- a huge salad with every kind of vegetable known to man or a veggie wrap(no cheese) with avocado and tomatoes, cucumbers etc... with a delicious sea salt and olive oil dressing
Snack- veggies and hummus
Supper- quinoa salad or couscous salad(internet has loads of recipes) with lots of veggies chick peas..or a bean salad with a veggie salad
I don't limit my consumption of vegetables or fruits in the morning
I drink loads of water through out the day and I follow an exercise program that includes lots of cardio- I always tell my clients if you want to improve your cardio and loose alot of weight ...Run.
this is a guideline and you can use whatever fruits and veg you want; however, do not mix melons with the other fruits as they have conflicting enzymes.
One treat I do allow myself is raw chocolate or if that is not available dark chocolate over 70% and organic.
After following this you will find you no longer crave what you used to because you are satisfying what the body needs.

Peeling the Onion Always Makes Us Cry
OK So you've hit a wall, whatever that wall may be... your in a funk, you've stopped exercising, you fell off the wagon of sorts and feel like everything is falling apart...well while your in this funk try paying attention to what is going on around you, to the people you are meeting, the things they are saying, your thoughts(no matter how painful)..This funk may just be a sign for you to slow down and listen...take stock of your life and where you are headed...peeling the onion always makes us cry...but under each layer is a fresh and revitalized you with new ideas,a brighter and wiser outlook on life. It is in these funks that we learn the most about ourselves as painful as that may be at times. So stop listen and be aware...I also believe that once we have mastered the art of awareness these funks will cease or at least manifest less.

Look for the Lesson so Your Time wasn't a Total waste
It has been said that the people who come into our lives and the situations we encounter happen to teach us something. I do believe we can learn something from people and I have certainly been tested on several occasions; however, I am not a believer in that this whole thing is already planned out and I would have to believe that if I believed people were brought to us for a reason. No I believe we are the co creators of our existence and because there are so many of us we run into the creation of others as well for which at that time we are tested. Which was the case for me yesterday when I encountered the most opinionated, demanding, narrow minded, and who really could be summed up as "princess" I have ever met in my life. I have to say that was one of the most challenging hours I have had the misfortune of having to participate in and an hour of my time I can't get back so I must look at the lesson and the test of patience that I was put through in order to ensure it wasn't a total waste. It really was a test in patience and understanding.
A quote from this lovely lady and part of the conversation of yesterday "oh I hate hippies, there all like so green...blah". and she further went on to call people idiots who voted NDP and then how certain holistic measures were all placebo..Oh My God. But here is what I thought as she spewed...."This is one of the most negative, unhappy people I have ever met, and I feel sorry for her". I did say to her that "you can not debate politics, religion or really anything because the whole of our existence and what we believe is based on our own personal experience and our interpretations of data"...she said "no that is wrong" ...
So I will take the lesson from the hour...or more the test..because at one time in my life I may have argued with her about the merrits of social justice, and holistic medicine and this toxic society but considering she is over hear head toxic it would have been mute.
When encountering these kind of people remember it is they who are unhappy not you..express what you feel and what you believe but do not argue as you won't win and what is winning anyway...and do not wear their energy and negativity as it has nothing to do with you..show compassion because those are the ones who need it most, and be thankful when your time in their company is over ;)

Come On PEOPLE...Take a Stand and Stop Being Gouged
When does it stop??? I'll tell you...When people start standing up to the big corporations and demanding a stop to all the blatant gouging that goes on not only in this country but in the world!!
Gas prices...ridiculous and rising while the oil companies are raking in their largest profits ever...I mean this is just out right ridiculous and a total disregard for people..seriously insulting!!
Now Internet metering...come on!! you are going to go from a $60/month bill to a $300 if your not careful...because bell, shaw, telus are all going to start charging per byte used and even though it only costs them cents to provide that byte to you they will be charging dollars per byte over the usage used as per your plan...IS THIS OK WITH YOU????? IT IS NOT OK WITH ME!!!..SO I WENT TO OPENMEDIA.CA AND SIGNED THE PETITION AND ADDED MYSELF TO THEIR EMAIL LISTS SO I CAN DO WHAT EVER ELSE I NEED TO DO TO LET THE BIG CORPORATIONS AND GOVERNMENT KNOW THIS IS NOT OK...NOW IT IS YOUR TURN TO DO THE SAME. BELOW IS THE WEBSITE LINK AND INFORMATION TAKEN FROM THE OPEN MEDIA WEBSITE. PLEASE SIGN THE PETITION TODAY
Go to openmedia.ca, click on ACT NOW, click on ACTIVE CAMPAIGNS this will take you to the metered internet petition...SIGN IT or CONTINUE TO BE G0UGED
"This is where Canadians take a stand against price gouging by big phone and cable companies
Phone and cable companies are putting a pay meter on your Internet use.
We’re looking at a future where big telecom companies will charge per byte for Internet use, the way they do with smart phones. If we allow this to happen Canadians will have no choice but to pay MUCH more for less Internet. Big phone and cable are obviously trying to gouge Canadians, control the Internet market, and ensure that we continue to subscribe to their television services.
This will crush innovative services, Canada's digital competitiveness, social progress, and your wallet.
We urgently need to send a clear message to decision makers in Ottawa that we refuse to be gouged by big phone and cable companies. Enough is enough."..

The Story of a Fighter
The C word..oh how I hate that word and all it encompasses. I have heard that word far to often in my family and it has taken the lives of those I love without mercy, without discrimination even taking my lovely cousin at the age of 29.
Two years ago that black cloud again loomed over my families heads when we received the news that my dad had cancer..my dad..let me tell you about my dad..strong as an ox, 6'3 230 lbs, the matriarch of the family..my rock. Well my rock was brought down that day but was determined to fight it and do what he could to make sure it didn't take him like it took the others. He underwent risky surgery, so risky in fact that my mom, brother, sister and I all said our good byes to him before he had surgery because his chances of survival were slim. The morning of the surgery was very gloomy, not only in our hearts but outside as well...rainy, gray..cold. Dad went in for the surgery and 2 hours later the dr. came in to tell us that not only did dad survive but that he felt he got all the cancer...YIPEE!!! we all cried and laughed at the same time it was such a feeling of joy and relief..I still had my dad, I wasn't ready to lose him yet. Dad came home a week later to balloons and cards and phone calls from our very loving family all so happy they hadn't lost uncle charlie. Well this feeling lasted until his 6 month check up when we received some devastating news that the cancer had come back..."But" the dr. said although there are no more operations to be had the cancer is small and you(charlie) could die of old age before the cancer takes you..so as much as the news was not what we wanted it wasn't a death sentence so we go on with life as best as we can...
Summer time rolled in and my parents were planning their retirement years so they decided to buy what they have always wanted..a fifth wheel and lease a lot on a lake..all was great..Until...June 2 and dad was waiting impatiently for his fifth wheel to be delivered when the man who was delivering it called and said he was a bit lost..but would find his way..well patience was never my dads strong suit so he decided to go and find him...
40 min later and no dad back, the man with the fifth wheel pulled up...but no dad "Where the hell is dad"...we called my mom to see if she had heard.."NO"...The phone rings, and this is what I heard
"Your dad has been in a serious car accident and is in the hospital"....."NOOOOOO!!!!"
We race down and see my dad lying there in a drug induced coma, bloody, half his ear torn off, his head swollen so much it didn't even look like my dad...he went into surgery and when he came out of surgery he remained in a coma..for 16 days..we took turns by his bed side coaxing him to please be ok and come back to us, that we loved him so much and wanted him to try to live...he woke up on the 16th day but wasn't out of the woods and wasn't making a whole lot of sense but there was that hope again..or was it just his will to live, for the next 24 days he focused on coming home..he couldn't talk or walk well and he didn't make much sense..but what he did know is he wanted to come home..and that is what he repeated day in and day out..."HOME"..on the 40th day he came home. The first few weeks were great, he was happy to be home, but then the depression sunk in and the side effects I think of the pills, and the fact of what he just went through and that he couldn't do all the things that this strong man used to do..well that was 11 months ago now and he has been on an emotional roller coaster ever since. It has been really hard for us, but it is even harder for him...But it isn't over..oh no
Today we received another blow to our hearts...he has been having a lot of pain lately and we were hoping it was because he took up golf again and he just had some muscle soreness...OH NO OF COURSE NOT..
His Cancer has spread and is now in his bones...stage 4...FUCK!!!!
Now we wait until the 20th to see what the prognosis is.. and he says he will keep fighting...he doesn't want to leave his family...
I moved away from my family (but that is another story) but not because I necessarily wanted to and not to far, but far enough that I can't hug him and that is really hard right now but I will manifest the resources somehow that I need to go home and see him often...But he is a fighter...I have no doubt he will fight hard...I am thinking positive thoughts for him..but I am afraid he may be getting tired and I don't blame him..

Who Says You Can't Spot Reduce.....BYE BYE MUFFIN TOP..HELLO AGAIN WAISTLINE
Before After
It has been beat into us that we "can not spot reduce, your fat will come off where it comes off" blah, blah, blah.. oh how frustrating for people to hear that..I know because being a personal trainer for 20 years I was often the messenger getting shot for saying it,but it WAS the truth that is until recently and thanks again to the miracle of science and the fact that we are not one solid mass- which people need to remember- we are a bunch of vibrating cells- very important to note when trying to understand why and how things work. Anyway thanks to science this is no longer the case- and no I am not talking about the overly invasive, painful procedure known as LIPOSUCTION..EEEKK!!!, even the thought of that sends shivers up my spine and makes my bank card literally jump out of my wallet and hide...No I am talking about a relatively new and totally safe, non invasive procedure that DOES CONTOUR YOUR BODY WHERE YOU WANT IT TO...YAY!!! No more ridge at the bottom of my butt..IT IS AWESOME. I know because I had to try this for myself and I LOST 3 INCHES IN 1 TREATMENT..TRUE STORY FOLKS(that is why I had to blog about it)...Now I am not one of those people who thinks looks are everything because I know they are not; however I do enjoy looking as fabulous as I feel so if I see something on the outside that is not a reflection of how I feel inside..I fix it and this is how I fix my little ridge at the bottom of my butt, and the little bread doe that since I hit...well in my 30's seems to have risen over my pants...but not now.Let me introduce to you.......LIPOLASER!!!!! a completely non invasive, painless, totally effective, and way less expensive then liposuction treatments way to SPOT REDUCE. So what on earth are lipolser treatments you ask???...well allow me to explain how it works and I am not going to get to hung up on the scientific terminology etc..no I am going to explain it so you can say "oh yeah that makes sense, find me a laser clinic"...but please note, there are quite a few clinics out there but they are not all the same you need to find a clinic that has the latest laser technology and a laser that touches your skin as well as owners and staff who truly care about helping you reach your goals..that means that the staff are knowledgeable about health and wellness and can guide you holistically not just stick a laser to your butt and measure you and smile pretty NO NO NO because adding the laser to a good healthy diet and exercise plan is will set you apart from the rest and give you that extra edge and the closest thing to the "magic pill" everyone is searching for and a good clinic knows this and the staff will inform you of the same..So...
How It Works:
How LIPOLASER Works
The fat cell walls are made permeable for a short period allowing cell contents to spill out into the space around the cells. The fat (in the form of triglycerides) is broken down into free fatty acids (FFA’s) water and glycerol.
The FFA’s are used up by the body as energy, while water is used or excreted and glycerol is processed through natural metabolic functions. Fat cells are significantly reduced in size resulting in substantial body contour improvements.
During a standard treatment cycle, the body can easily process the amount of fat that is released.
***It is important to exercise after the laser treatments as there are about 400 cal that need to be burned, if you go to a good clinic they will advise you on the proper protocol post treatment.
The above information on how the laser works was taken from the NU AGE Lipolaser Clinics Website(address posted below) in Vancouver,BC which uses the most advanced laser system and the staff and management are amazing and very knowledgeable

How It Works:
How LIPOLASER Works
LIPOLASER paddles containing laser diodes that emit waves of light (650nm) designed to target fat cells are placed on the client’s skin for five 10 minutes intervals per treatment area. Laser energy safely and painlessly penetrates several millimeters into the layer of fat under the skin.
Fat cells at rest are full of water glycerol and free fatty acids | Laser energy from LIPOLASER starts the process of allowing fat cells to drain | Pores have formed on fat cells allowing the release of contents |
Water, Glycerol and Free Fatty Acids pour into the space around the cells | More Water (blue), Free Fatty Acids (green) and Glycerol (purple) spill out | Fat cells significantly reduced in size while the blood vessel stays unaffected |
Safety
Low level lasers have been used successfully in private practise for over 30 years and in numerous studies worldwide. To date, there are no known reports of anyone being harmed by a low level laser which is extremely safe when used correctly.
Clinical testing completed in the United States and overseas has shown the LIPOLASER maintained an excellent level of safety throughout multiple treatments on a wide range of patients.
The LIPOLASER is approved by Health Canada and the FDA
***It is important to exercise after the laser treatments as there are about 400 cal that need to be burned, if you go to a good clinic they will advise you on the proper protocol post treatment.

Detoxify Your Life...
Are you in the right place at the right time in your life or are you in the "right" place due to how you are feeling in the current time and it may not necessarily feel or be "right". Things happen in life that take you to places both physically and mentally and yes they are usually in direct correlation to how you are feeling at least that has been my experience. So what do you do when you find yourself in the not so right place...well you look at your surroundings the people you are with the substances you are ingesting and you start detoxifying and yes that includes people, places and things..anything that is toxic to you as a person needs to be removed. It may be hard but if you want to be whole and happy it is necessary.
